Marche Artisan

This post is a little different again- I really need to create a "restaurant review" section of it's own but considering we're still very new here, indulge me...

Let me tell you about a little local spot here in East Nashville.  It's called Marche Artisan Foods and it's a FABulous, quaint, european style restaurant.  What's great about it is it's ever- changing menu, based on the season and whatever fresh produce is available!  James, a few friends and I had the privilege of dining there LAST fall so I figured now is the perfect time to revisit the photos and dishes of that night.

Not sure if you can see that stud, I mean.. READ THAT BOARD ;) but it is UNREAL... let me tell you:
  • Spiced Cake with Apple Mousse (apple mousse are you kidding?)
  • Chocolate Walnut Pie
  • Butternut Squash Tart
  • German Chocolate Cake
  • Apple Crisp
  • Bundt Cake Du Jour... any place that has a DU JOUR for bundt cakes gets my vote
  • Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee
  • AND MORE....

And more?? I can't take anymore! And that's only the featured DESSERTS!  Let me show you a sampling of the 1st and 2nd courses and how DIVERSE they all were...
Roasted fig, orange and olives

house made rosemary sea salt focaccia

basil & goat cheese omelette (mine)

house made cinnamon raisin toast with raspberry jam & blue cheese (mine)

Red Wine braised short ribs & pappardelle pasta

Pumpkin Gnocchi

WOW. Such a variation right? For being such a tiny place they've got some HUGE creativity and unique flavors. The antipasto and focaccia were simply perfect. My TWO dishes (ha!) were out of this world... I'm not sure I've ever had a more biting blue cheese in all my cheese experience, which is extensive and should have its own blog.  Of course, the short ribs melted in your mouth and our very vegan friend, Michael, was SUPREMELY happy with his pumpkin gnocchi.  Would I go back? Absolutely. Was it worth the money? Totally. Should you try it next time you find yourself on the east side? Yep.

Anyone been there? Thoughts?
Happy Eating!
